Lenten muffins are in no way inferior to traditional muffins in taste. Therefore, I personally bake lean muffins not only during fasting, but in general all year round - I really like it!
Cooking description:
Our family does not fast (not out of principle, but it just somehow happened that we do not fast). Nevertheless, one day I accidentally discovered a recipe for lean muffins somewhere, tried to cook it - and it was right. The lean muffins turned out to be amazing, in my opinion they are even tastier and more original than the usual ones.
I tell you how to make lean muffins at home literally in no time:
1. Mix sifted flour with other dry ingredients - cinnamon, sugar and salt.
2. Add jam to the dry mixture. Any jam can be used, it is also permissible to use thick jam (for example, plum jam) instead.
3. Add water and oil to the mixture, mix well.
4. Add baking powder and, if desired, nuts or dried fruits. Mix thoroughly again.
5. Arrange the resulting dough in the muffin tins and place them on a baking sheet. We put the baking sheet in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, and bake until fully cooked - 25-30 minutes, depending on the size of the muffins.
Cool the prepared lean muffins on the wire rack and serve. They are best eaten fresh, but store well too.
Enjoy your meal!;)
