Today we will prepare a very tasty fruit jelly for dessert, but instead of gelatin, we will use agar-agar, which has a number of advantages over gelatin.

Cooking description:

First of all, I hasten to please you that the recipe for making jelly with agar agar is not much different from the technology for making such jelly, but with the use of gelatin. So why did we choose agar-agar? The answer is very simple: in its qualities it is to some extent superior to gelatin, but for me personally its main advantage is that it lacks an unpleasant smell and taste. But that's not all, it is also worth noting that agar is entirely of vegetable origin (that is, it can be used during fasting), and it also consists mainly of fiber, and, therefore, perfectly removes toxins from the body. And if you think that we will end there, then you are deeply mistaken: agar-agar solidifies much faster than gelatin, and at room temperature, it absolutely does not melt. I don't know about youBut I could not resist such an onslaught of facts, and started using this excellent gelatin substitute, and now I will share with you a simple recipe for jelly with agar agar, in which we will use fresh fruit and juice.

Main ingredient: Agar-agar

Dish: Desserts / Jellies

Diet: Lenten meals / Vegetarian food

Ingredients:

  • Agar agar - 4.5 Teaspoons (1.5 tablespoons for each juice)
  • Juice - 1.5 Liters (half a liter of juice of different color)
  • Fruits and berries - - To taste (orange, banana, kiwi, grapes)

Servings: 3

How to make Agar Jelly

First of all, we fill the agar-agar with a small amount of cold juice and leave it to swell. This process takes several hours, so it is best to leave it overnight. Now we take one of the remaining juices (in our case, orange), pour it into a saucepan and send it to the fire. When the juice boils, pour the swollen agar into it and bring it to a boil again, and cook, mix well, until the agar is completely dissolved. We cut our fruits beautifully. You can use absolutely any of your choice. Now we pour the juice with agar into molds and put the sliced fruits in it (I have it an orange). Leave the jelly for a few minutes to cool down a little, and then put it in the refrigerator.
