Recipe for making a light Sicilian dessert made from mango, lime and sugar.
Cooking description:
Place the chopped mango in a food processor bowl and stir until smooth. Put the mixture into a bowl. Add water, lime juice and sugar. Stir until sugar dissolves.
Pour the mixture into a metal saucepan and place in the freezer for up to 3 hours, stirring the mixture every hour. Remove from the freezer and scrape the surface with the tines of a fork; crushed ice will not work. Return dessert to freezer and store there until serving.
Granite can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
