Uzvars, compotes, infusions are ancient homemade drinks of the Slavs. They love them not only because they are delicious, but also because each housewife has several secrets and puts her own ingredient in such a compote.
This compote is especially interesting. Ginger is not very noticeable in the compote, but it is clearly guessed in the aftertaste. Candied ginger is not as bright as fresh ginger. - Apples - 500 grams (dried)
- Sugar - To taste
- Prunes - 100 Grams
- Candied Gingerbread - 30 Grams
- Water - 3 Liters
How to make "Prune and Apple Compote"
Rinse the apples under running water. Throw them on a sieve, let the water drain. Transfer the apples to a saucepan. Add prunes. I have it dried, pitted. Now add the candied ginger. If no candied fruit is available, fresh ginger can also be used. Fill the contents of the pot with water. Cook for 20 minutes. Now add sugar to taste and cook for another 5 minutes. Turn off the fire. Let cool slightly. Pour the compote warm into glasses.
