How to make pear and apple jam?

1. Rinse apples and pears, remove the core and damaged areas. You can remove the skin if desired. Cut into wedges.

2. Pass the peeled and chopped apples and pears through a meat grinder.

3. Weigh the resulting puree. According to the recipe, we should have a kilogram of apples and pears puree. If it comes out more or less, calculate the required amount of sugar in proportion: half the amount of sugar is used for the volume of mashed potatoes.

4. Put the puree in a saucepan, put on medium heat and cook until thickened. Stir constantly.

5. After the puree has thickened, add the sugar and juice of one lemon. Stir. Cook until tender.

6. Put the finished jam in sterilized jars. If desired, dry the jam at a low temperature in the oven. Close with sterilized lids. The jam is ready!

Pear and apple jam is delicious just spread on white bread. You can also add it to baked goods as a filling.
