For a long time I wondered how to cook bacon in brine in a jar. Having tried this recipe, I don't change it again! Lard turns out to be tender and is well suited as an appetizer for a festive table.

It is customary to combine such an appetizer with black (or white) bread, which I prefer to rub with garlic. I like to make small canapes with garlic bread (sometimes substituted with mustard) and lard. It is better to store it in the freezer, then the cutting process is greatly simplified.

  • Fresh lard - 1 Kilogram
  • Bay leaf - 3 pieces
  • Salt - 100 Grams
  • Water - 1 Liter
  • Garlic - 3 Cloves
  • Peppercorns - 10 Pieces

How to cook "Lard in brine in a jar"

1 Cut the bacon into small pieces. The ideal, in my opinion, thickness is 5-7 mm, then the lard has time to quickly saline. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a towel. I put the pieces into the bank for a fee. 2 Now I'm preparing the brine. Pour salt, peppercorns and lavrushka into the water. I leave it on low heat, stirring occasionally. When the salt dissolves completely, remove from heat and add chopped garlic. I stir it. 3 Pour lard with hot (this is mandatory) brine so that it is completely covered with liquid, to the top pieces. 4 I close the jar tightly and leave it in the refrigerator or on the balcony for three days (during the cold season). I dry the pieces before serving.
