This recipe differs from the usual one in that it contains Irish beer. And in the usual recipe for meat stew, beer is completely absent. You can find such a beer only in large supermarkets, and it is not cheap, so you can try replacing it with dark beer, but be prepared for a change in taste.

  • Beef - 600 Grams
  • Salt - 3 Teaspoons
  • Olive Oil - 1/3 Cup
  • Garlic - 6 Cloves
  • Beef Broth - 4 Glasses
  • Water - 2 Glasses
  • Beer - 1 Glass
  • Red wine - 1 Glass
  • Tomato paste - 2 Tbsp. spoons
  • Sugar - 1 Tbsp. the spoon
  • Dried Thyme - 1 Teaspoon
  • Worcestershire Sauce - 1 Tbsp the spoon
  • Bay leaf - 2 pieces
  • Butter - 2 Tbsp. spoons
  • Potatoes - 4 Pieces
  • Onion - 1 Piece
  • Carrots - 2 Pieces
  • Ground pepper - To taste
  • Parsley - To taste

How to cook "Irish Meat Stew"

1. Cut the meat into small pieces. Heat the oil in a heavy-walled saucepan and arrange the meat in a single layer. 2. Fry each piece on all sides until golden brown. 3. Add chopped garlic to the meat, after 1 minute add broth, water, wine, beer, add tomato paste, sugar, dried thyme, Worcestershire sauce, bay leaf. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. 4. Dice the onions and carrots. Preheat a separate saucepan and lay out the onions and carrots, fry the vegetables for about 15 minutes. 5. Peel the potatoes and cut them into small pieces, put the fried vegetables and potatoes in a saucepan for the meat, salt and pepper, cook for another 40-50 minutes. 6. Turn off the heat and remove the bay leaf,Serve the stew with the resulting gravy and garnish with chopped parsley.
