Now I will show you how to make "Ukrainian Kifliki". This is a lean pastry with lots of nuts and poppy seeds, and I will also use apple jam and icing sugar for sweetness. Jam can be replaced with any other, but thick, so that the dough does not spread. Try it!

Ingredients:

  • Wheat flour - 175 Grams
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tbsp. the spoon
  • Salt - 1 Pinch
  • Water - 100 Milliliters
  • Poppy - 2 Art. spoons
  • Walnuts - 100 Grams
  • Powdered sugar - 2 Tbsp. spoons
  • Apple jam - 2 Tbsp. spoons
  • Odorless vegetable oil - 1 tbsp. spoon (for greasing kifliks)

How to cook "Ukrainian kifliki"

1. Prepare food for dough and filling. You will also need an additional tablespoon of vegetable oil to lubricate the kifliks. 2. Sift flour, add a pinch of salt and warm water. Add oil in the process. Knead the dough. 3. The dough should be soft and elastic, do not add more flour than necessary. Wrap it in a bag or plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes. 4. Divide the dough into 2 pieces. Powder the table with flour and roll it out first with a rolling pin as far as possible, then lift the dough with your hands and very carefully stretch it in different directions, forming a rectangle. 5. Brush the thinnest dough with jam, distribute half of the nuts, poppy seeds, powdered sugar. Leave the rest of the filling for the second roll. 6. Carefully roll up the roll, brush with vegetable oil and cut diagonally with a sharp knife.Repeat the process with the rest of the dough and filling.
