How to make "Blackthorn Compote for the Winter"
Prepare the sloe, sugar and citric acid for the compote. Wash the sloe well. And put it in a sterilized jar. Pour boiling water into a jar of thorns. Cover with a sterilized lid and let stand for 20 minutes. Then pour the water into a saucepan, and pour sugar to taste and citric acid into the jar. Bring the water in a saucepan to a boil and pour over the blackthorn a second time. Roll up the lid, turn upside down and wrap in a blanket. Keep the jars in a blanket until they have cooled completely. Store in a closet.
