Kichri is a traditional Indian dish. These are fried spices in oil and stewed rice, we mash together, sometimes vegetables are added. The dish turns out to be spicy, satisfying and very tasty.

The main ingredients of this dish are mung bean and rice, best of all are Basmati rice or jasmine. Any vegetables will do, you can take zucchini, carrots or broccoli. There are many cooking options, I will show you my way of cooking kichri.

Ingredients:
- Rice - 125 Grams
- Mash - 100 Grams
- Cauliflower - 350 Grams
- Tomato - 4 Pieces
- Coconut oil - 1.5 Tbsp spoons
- Cumin - 1/2 Teaspoon
- Asafoetida - 1/2 Teaspoon
- Water - 800 Milliliters
- Salt - 1 Teaspoon
- Turmeric - 1 Teaspoon
- Ginger - 1/2 Teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 Teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 2-3 tbsp spoons

How to cook "Kichri"
Prepare all ingredients. Melt the coconut oil in a heavy-bottomed saucepan. Saute the cumin, asafoetida and ginger until the aroma is revealed. Add the coarsely chopped tomatoes to the saucepan. Fry them until juicing for a couple of minutes. Rinse mung bean and rice until transparent. Add cauliflower, mung bean and rice to the pot. Mix everything well. Pour water into a saucepan, add turmeric, salt and pepper. Simmer, covered over medium-low heat for 30 minutes.
