Meze is a Turkish appetizer. There are many options, I will show you one of my favorites. It's simple, doesn't require complicated ingredients and is delicious!

Main Ingredient: Vegetables / Legumes / Lentils

- Lentils - 100 Grams
- Carrots - 400 Grams
- Onion - 1 Piece
- Yogurt - 250 grams (sugar free)
- Garlic - 2-3 Cloves
- Salt - To taste
- Ground black pepper - To taste
- Parsley - 1/4 Bunch
- Water - 300 Milliliters
How to cook "Turkish meze"
Prepare all ingredients. Soak lentils in water for 4 hours in advance. Saute the onions over medium heat until golden brown. Add the grated carrots and fry for a couple of minutes, stirring occasionally. Bring the lentils and water to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 20-30 minutes. Mix yogurt with chopped garlic, salt and pepper. Place the fried vegetables and lentils on a flat dish. Top with yogurt and garnish with herbs.
